Our Responsibility as Americans
It is little known that 70% of all our electricity comes from coal-fired power plants. Despite its prevalence in the modern American economy, other means of energy production are much more practical, and much less damaging to the environment. That includes wind power, solar power, hydroelectric power, and nuclear power. It is our responsibility as American citizens to convert our electricity production to these other ways by convincing lawmakers of its importance. If nobody acts soon, clean air will begin to be scarce, animals will lose their habitats, and climate change will threaten the lives of everyone on planet earth.
